Though Riviera socialite Kay Stanton (Jean Seberg) pursued a dalliance with American ensign Mark Dominic (Sean Garrison) while her psychiatrist husband Neil (Arthur Hill) was out of town, she guiltily broke it off. Dominic wasn't having it-and she accidentally shot him as they quarreled. Dumping him in a ravine, she thought it was over... until the cops called Neil to consult over the wounded amnesiac they found.
