H. J. Barton is an underworld gambling kingpin, gunned down in his prime. Having passed as a member of high society before the truth was revealed, his death leaves his daughter, Carol, to deal with the shame of the family's shady ties. Carol seeks the help of a police officer who has been a family friend, in the hopes of finding her father's killers.
